I can't work with every small business that contacts me for help. If I did that, I wouldn't be able to invest the level of time and energy I feel is necessary to fully support those small business owners that I do work with. I would be stretched too thin and the quality of my service would suffer as a result. That wouldn't be good for me or my clients.


Instead, I carefully select the business owners I work with by intently listening to their needs, getting to know them and making sure that we are a good fit to work together. An ideal fit would include small service-based businesses with evidence of growth or new businesses with solid growth potential who are guided by owners who embrace new technology and cloud-based systems. They also understand the immense value that a reliable accounting system can offer them. They are committed to accurate recordkeeping and are truly passionate about making their business the very best it can be.

Down 2 The Penny Small Business Solutions was founded in 2009 as a small business bookkeeping service. 

The essence of Down 2 The Penny is firmly rooted in a passion for Intuit QuickBooks Online. I have been a current member of Intuit's QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Program since 2011. I participate in ongoing software training, testing and certifications throughout the year and am currently an Advanced Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor which is the highest level of certification that Intuit awards. Additionally, I make time to attend national conferences of Certified ProAdvisors on an annual basis so I can stay up-to-date on the constantly evolving QuickBooks Online ecosystem.

  • How much do you charge for your services?

    I don't have a set schedule of prices.  Instead, I offer customized, fixed pricing that is tailored to be exactly what you want.  No surprise invoices - ever.

  • Do you offer tax planning and tax return filing?

    No.  My focus is on making your books accurate so that your tax preparer charges you less and thanks you for making their jobs easier!  If you don't currently have a tax preparer, I am happy to refer you to some.

  • Can I secure a new subscription to QuickBooks Online through Down 2 The Penny?

    Of course! Even better – I can offer you discounted subscription prices on NEW QuickBooks Online monthly subscriptions should you choose to work with me.

  • Do you work with startup businesses?

    Yes. New businesses who reach out to me are truly forward-thinking!  There's no better way to help your new business than to invest in making sure your systems and workflows are setup correctly from the start.  It's a great way to save yourself from accounting headaches and clean-up expenses down-the-road.

  • Do you offer payroll processing services?

    Not at this time.  I do, however, offer comprehensive QuickBooks Online Payroll setup, training and support to make the payroll process for users as simple as entering appropriate values in corresponding fields each pay period.
